Internet cookies

We use cookies on this website to provide you with a better user experience. We do this by placing a small text file on your device/computer hard drive to track how you use the website, to record or log whether you have seen particular messages that we display, to keep you logged into the website where applicable, to display relevant adverts or content, referred you to a third-party website.

Some cookies are required to enjoy and use the full functionality of this website. We use a cookie control system which allows you to accept the use of cookies and control which cookies are saved to your device/computer. Some cookies will be saved for specific time periods, where others may last indefinitely. Your web browser should provide you with the controls to manage and delete cookies from your device, please see your web browser options.

Symplr.io uses cookies to help us identify and track visitors, their usage of https://symplr.io and their website access preferences. Symplr.io’s visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers or mobile devices should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using our website, with the drawback that certain features of Symplr.io’s website and/or mobile device may not function properly without the aid of cookies. By continuing to navigate our website and mobile app without changing your cookie settings, you hereby acknowledge and agree to our use of cookies.

We collect data about your activities that does not personally or directly identify you when you visit our website, the website of entities for which we serve advertisements (our “Advertisers”), or the websites and online services where we display advertisements (“Publishers”).

This information may include the content you view, the date and time that you view this content, the products you purchase, or your location information associated with your IP address. We use the information we collect to serve you more relevant advertisements (referred to as “Retargeting”). We collect information about where you saw the ads, we serve you and what ads you clicked on.

Payments through Stripe

When you connect a Stripe account to an app you build with Symplr by installing the Symplr app from the Stripe App Marketplace, Symplr receives access tokens for that account and stores them encrypted at rest, with access limited to systems and staff that need them. We use these tokens to provide the features you use: creating your app’s products and prices; creating customers, subscriptions and payments for your app’s users; opening Stripe’s billing portal; and receiving Stripe events to keep subscription status current. We may also use them as needed to secure and troubleshoot the service and to comply with legal obligations. Apps created from a template start connected to Symplr’s own Stripe account in test mode, where no real payments are taken; Symplr’s records of those test transactions are deleted when you connect your own Stripe account or delete the app.

For your app’s subscribers, you are the controller of their personal data and Symplr processes it on your behalf, in accordance with your instructions and our Terms and Conditions. Subscribers who wish to access or delete their data should contact the app’s owner. To create a customer in your Stripe account, we send Stripe the subscriber’s email address and a pseudonymous internal user ID. Stripe events we receive may contain additional customer details, such as name or billing address; we retain only the subscriber’s Stripe customer and subscription IDs, plan, subscription status, trial end and renewal dates, whether the subscription cancels at the end of the current period, and the card’s brand, last 4 digits and expiry date, so your app can display them, and discard the rest. Card details are collected directly by Stripe, and Symplr does not receive or store full card numbers.

Symplr stores this data in the United States, and Stripe processes it primarily in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the subscriber’s country, we take steps to ensure the transfer complies with applicable data protection laws.

We do not sell or share data obtained from Stripe. If you disconnect Stripe from an app, that app stops using the account and its subscriber billing data is deleted; the account’s access tokens are deleted once none of your apps use it. Uninstalling the Symplr app from your Stripe Dashboard deletes the access tokens immediately, along with the subscriber billing data of every app linked to that account. Subscriber billing data stored by Symplr is also deleted when your app is deleted, and removed from backups within one month. Stripe’s own processing is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy (https://stripe.com/privacy).

Retention of Your Personal Data

Symplr.io will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. Retention periods for data obtained through Stripe are set out in the “Payments through Stripe” section above.

Symplr.io will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Symplr.io may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and at its sole discretion.

We encourage visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.

Opt-Out

We offer you choices when we ask for personal information, whenever reasonably possible. Symplr.io provides you with the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes. You may decline to provide personal information to us, although some of our features or services may not function properly as a result.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt-out of this by contacting us on the contact information provided on our website. By providing information to Symplr.io, you are consenting to the collection, use and disclosure of such personal information in the manner described in this privacy policy.

Disclaimer

You agree that the transmission of data via Symplr.io site is subject to human error, machine errors, omissions, delays, and losses (including but not limited to viruses or inadvertent loss of data or damage to media) that may give rise to the loss or damage. We will not be liable for any such errors, omissions, delays, or losses unless caused by our wilful misconduct.

When you access data (e.g. a guide, comment, or attachments to a guide or comment) on a Symplr.io site, a copy of that data may be copied to your computer (“cached”). Once pages and/or data has been cached on your computer, that data is beyond our control and may be accessible to anyone with access to your computer. You assume all liability associated with any data cached on your local computer.

Symplr.io site should only be used as a resource for accessing information, not a resource for information storage. You should implement security measures, to a level of good industry practice, to limit the impact of data loss (such as corruption or virus infection).

Breach of “Privacy”

Users have a right to pursue legally enforceable rights against us if we fail to adhere to the privacy laws. Privacy laws under this agreement shall include reasonable privacy laws acceptable and used in commercial businesses. These laws require not only that users have enforceable rights against us, but also that users have recourse to courts or government agencies to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by Symplr.io.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Google Analytics and Google AdSense

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on its servers. Google will use this information for evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Further information about Google’s privacy policy may be obtained from https://policies.google.com/privacy. You may opt-out of Google Analytics by visiting the Google Analytics Opt-out Page (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

We also use Google AdSense Advertising on our website. Google AdSense is an advertisement initiative by Google for website owners. A website owner can register with Google AdSense and once an advert is placed by Google, the website owner gets paid per clicks and interest (the products on the advert changes overtime as most adverts are for partners of Google or Google itself).

Our Service may contain links to external sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third-party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy and the terms and conditions of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites, products, or services.
